Introduction
You've just logged in and see a sidebar on the left, a message field in the middle, and the question "What can I do for you?". This article walks you through every area of the screen so you know where everything is. By the end, you'll have switched between your Personal space and a project, opened a chat's sources and outputs, and found your settings.
What you need
A Noxtua account. Your organization invites you by email. If you haven't logged in yet, start by Logging in.
A supported browser. A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
Role: any user. Everything in this article is available to all users. Only the Admin section in Settings depends on your permissions.
Noxtua has four areas: the sidebar on the left, the chat in the middle, the In this chat panel on the right, and Settings. Everything in the sidebar belongs to the space you're in.
Spaces: Personal and projects
Every chat lives in a space. Your Personal space is the default and is visible only to you. A project is a space for a specific matter, such as a merger review or a client case. Each space has its own chats, and a project also has its own files and matrices.
Why it matters: Spaces keep your work organized by matter. Quick one-off questions stay in Personal, while each project keeps the chats and files for one matter together, like a case file.
How to use it: Click the switcher under Space at the top of the sidebar. Select Personal or a project, filter by name, or click New project. The ⋯ menu next to a project lets you Edit (name, background, icon) and Delete.
The sidebar
The sidebar is your navigation. From top to bottom, it contains:
Why it matters: This is how you return to any earlier work.
How to use it: Hover over a chat to rename, export, delete, or Add to project. Click the panel icon next to the Noxtua logo to collapse the sidebar into an icon rail.
The chat and the message field
The chat is where you work. Ask a legal question, hand Noxtua a document, or ask for a draft, all in the field that reads Enter a question or instruction….
Why it matters: the buttons around the field determine what Noxtua reads and which law it applies.
How to use it:
+ (Add files): Upload from computer (PDF, Word, Excel, email, and more), attach Documents already in the project or chat. You can also drag files into the chat.
Jurisdiction: the flag picks the market your question is about, such as Germany, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. It locks once a chat has started.
Microphone: activates "voice input". Dictate your request instead of typing.
Send / Stop response: send your message or stop an answer that is still running.
Edit question: modify your last question, for example to fix a mistake or add details. When you send it again, the new answer replaces the old one.
The "In this chat" panel
The panel on the right shows what an answer is based on. It has three parts:
Progress: the steps of a longer task as Noxtua works through them.
Outputs: documents Noxtua writes for you. Open, export as a Word document, or Save to project files.
Sources: every law, decision, commentary, article, and file Noxtua used, grouped by type.
Why it matters: This is how you review Noxtua's work.
How to use it: Click a citation number in an answer to jump to the exact passage. Drag the panel's edge to resize it.
Settings
Settings hold your personal preferences. Open them from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
Profile: your full name.
Interface: theme (light or dark) and interface language. Noxtua answers in the language you write in.
Click Back to app to return to where you were.
Note: For admin-only settings, see the For Admins section.

Try it yourself
